INVINCIBLE could work as a great survival map in my opinion. You start off on a small plains land mass, which is practically an island, except for one connecting patch of land, that leads to some jungle. With another mineshaft (39, 67, 256) extremely close to your spawn, you are not having to travel far for good areas to explore.
